eBay is facing vertical competitors in every part of its business globally. These vertical specialists are engaging buyers in deeply focused and contextual ways, including unique community and category-specific experiences — without any of the legacy baggage that a longtime marketplace like eBay has to contend with.
My Design team's charter was to partner with our Product and Engineering groups and deliver definitive, optimized experiences for specific category audiences — helping eBay become the destination for products that require category expertise, market credibility, and appropriate protections.
